In construction and engineering design projects your Bentley MicroStation drawings are the result of your hard work and investment. You need management and security for these valuable assets to avoid long search and retrieval times, limited access to documents, data inconsistency, risk of file loss and duplicated work, auditability and control over user rights and file history.
The MicroStation Integration Module for Livelink ECM – eDOCS DM addresses these concerns by allowing you to use eDOCS DM to manage your MicroStation drawings. Integration between MicroStation and eDOCS DM allows you to effectively manage MicroStation drawings and projects in eDOCS DM.
For organizations already using eDOCS DM, the Integration Module allows you to bring MicrosStation into your organization wide knowledge management infrastructure that already includes project files from Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Powerpoint, AutoCAD and other key applications.
Through the eDOCS DM integration with other systems such as Workflow, Portal, EAM and ERP, your MicroStation engineering drawings can be incorporated into critical business processes around project management, finance, maintain/repair/operation systems, HSE and compliance.
Key features and benefits:
- Seamless Integration: Allows files to be saved to the DM repository and opened from the DM repository from within MicroStation.
- Drawing Publication (Snapshots): Lock a MicroStation file and its referenced files, creating a "snapshot" of the project state. Modifications to a published version must be saved to a new file or version. Work can continue on these drawings, but the published version is always available.
- More Effective Engineering Teams: Enable multiple people to work on different versions of the same MicroStation drawing. Dynamic and static references can be made to documents in eDOCS DM. These references can be made to the eDOCS DM "current" version, the "published" version or to any specific drawing version. Team members may work in parallel on different sub-drawings referenced into a master project, and may update the master project for others to see only when they choose to publish a new version.
- Title Block Synchronization: Synchronize text between MicroStation text elements and fields on the DM eDOCS profile. The integration supports unidirectional or bidirectional synchronization. Optional "Inheritance" allows text elements in a drawing referenced from a Master drawing to be synchronized with the eDOCS DM profile data of the Master drawing.
- Get Up and Running Quickly: An included utility performs a batch import of MicroStation files and updates all references to the new locations in the eDOCS DM repository. This works in conjunction with the DM repository import utility and allows the client to import an entire project at once and begin productive work immediately.
